Taohuatan, located 40 kilometers west of Jingxian County, faces Huangshan Mountain to the south, Jiuhua Mountain to the west, and is closely connected with Taiping Lake. It became famous all over the world because of the popular poem "Presented to Wang Lun" by Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai, which reads: "The water of Taohuatan is a thousand feet deep, but not as deep as the love Wang Lun gave me."
The lake's surface shimmers brilliantly, its turquoise waters embracing the sky. Strange rocks tower along its banks, ancient trees and vines drape across the water. In spring, the lush greenery resembles a blanket, peach blossoms blaze like clouds, and towering pavilions and precarious buildings loom among them, creating a scene reminiscent of a fairyland. Peach Blossom Pond is dotted with numerous natural and cultural attractions: the thousand-year-old Lei Yudun, the mysterious Shuban Stone, the Rainbow Hill where Li Bai slept drunkenly, the ancient An Pavilion where the sound of dance echoes, and the ancient dwellings clad in blue brick and black tile... The misty waters of Peach Blossom Pond enchant the senses, and the spring scenery of the peach grove captivates the senses. Every step is a scene, and the scenery is delightful in all seasons.

Zhonghua Temple
This is the ancestral hall of the Zhai clan, a prominent Chen clan. Records indicate that during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Zhai clan boasted fifteen members who achieved the title of Jinshi (Jinshi), hundreds who achieved Juren (Juren), and thousands who achieved Xiucai (Scholars). During the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, Zhai Guoru, the Jiangnan pacification general, sacrificed his life for his country while quelling a rebellion in the Yunnan frontier. The ancestral hall was given the imperial title of "Zhongxiao Hall." This hall, with its three front and back courtyards, covers an area of 1,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres). Built entirely of nanmu and white marble, its stone and wood carvings are exceptionally rare, earning it the title "China's No. 1 Ancestral Hall" from Luo Zhewen, an expert on ancient architecture from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
Taiping Lake
Upstream from Taohuatan, you'll reach the Chencun Hydropower Station, the largest hydropower station in the southern Anhui mountainous region. Climbing the dam, you'll gaze out across Taiping Lake, the renowned "Huangshan Lover," a world-renowned landmark. Nestled between Huangshan Mountain and a narrow strip of water, you can take a yacht directly to the foot of the mountain. The vast expanse of emerald waters and the lush green mountains create a breathtaking spectacle. Golden Island, nestled in the middle of the lake, stands gracefully like the pearl of Taiping Lake. Densely forested, with birdsong and fragrant flowers, every step offers a new scene, a picturesque scene.
New Fourth Army Headquarters
The old site is located in Yunling, 25 kilometers west of Jingxian County. From July 1938 to January 1941, the New Fourth Army headquarters moved here from Yansi in Shexian County. The headquarters' organs were spread across 13 natural villages along a 15-kilometer-long mountain range between Yunling and Sigu Mountain.
The military headquarters was located in Luoli Village, on the site of two former landlord estates: Zhongmo Garden and Dafudi. They consisted of 71 houses, a building, and a small garden. Ye Ting, Xiang Ying, and Zhou Zikun all lived there. Vice Chairman Zhou Enlai also stayed at Zhongmo Garden during his inspection tour of Yunling.
