Yushan is located in Chongyang County, Nanchui, Hubei Province. The northern part of the mountain is covered with terraced land like scales and is rich in tea and angelica. The southern part of the mountain is covered with pine, fir, southern bamboo, palm, and coal. The state-owned Chang'ankou Coal Mine is located in the southwest of the mountain.
It is said that the ancient name of Yushan was Rushan because of its towering peaks and gurgling springs at the foot of the mountain, which were like the sweet milk flowing from a mother's breasts, nourishing the people around it. Later, local residents observed that before every rain, the top of Rushan was always shrouded in fog, and the rain in Yushan basically started to fall from Rushan, so it was renamed Yushan.
