Mulan Mountain is located in the northern part of Huangpi District, Wuhan City. It is surrounded by Mulan Lake in the east, overlooks Mulan Tianchi in the south, is close to the Luoshui River in the west, and is backed by Dabie Mountains in the north. It covers an area of 78 square kilometers and is an important part of the Mulan Ecological Tourism Area. It is a famous Taoist holy place in the central region.
Mulan Mountain is a national 5A-level scenic spot. Named after General Mulan, it is the hometown of General Mulan and a sacred site for both Buddhism and Taoism. It is also one of the Ten Scenic Spots of Ancient Huangpi and the Eight Scenic Spots of Mulan.
Every year, pilgrims and tourists from home and abroad flock to the temple. It has been designated as one of the important national attractions and included in the national holiday tourism information forecast system.
There is the Mulan Mountain ancient building complex on the mountain, which consists of seven palaces, eight pavilions and thirty-six halls, forming a large-scale religious building complex covering an area of more than 30,000 square meters.
The National Mountain Outdoor Challenge, the Mulan Temple Fair, and the Mulan Mountain Climbing Festival, international A-level events, are held throughout the year.
Mulan Mountain has steep cliffs and cold green water. With an average annual temperature of 16 degrees, it is a famous summer resort.
From front to back, there are Nantianmen, Ertianmen, Huiguang Hall, General Mulan's Tomb, Mulan Hall, Doumu Palace, Chaotianmen, Baoen Hall, Emperor Palace, Sanqing Hall, Niangniang Hall, Jade Emperor Pavilion, and Golden Roof.

The mountain is located in the northeastern suburbs of Wuhan, Hubei Province. Visitors can take a taxi or bus from Wuhan city center. Shuttle services may also be available from major transport hubs. Walking is required to explore trails inside the scenic area.
Open daily, typically from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The best times to visit are during spring and autumn for pleasant weather and colorful scenery.
Booking in advance is recommended during holidays or weekends. 1–3 days prior is generally sufficient.
3–5 hours to explore key trails, temples, and scenic spots; a full-day visit is ideal for a leisurely experience.
Guided tours are available mainly in Chinese; limited English-language tours may be arranged on request.
Begin with the main entrance and visitor center, hike to mid-mountain temples and scenic spots, continue to the summit viewpoints, and descend via forest trails, stopping at waterfalls and gardens along the way.
Night visits are limited; occasional special events or seasonal illumination may occur but are not regular.
Weekends and public holidays are the busiest. Weekdays and early mornings are the least crowded times.
Facilities include public toilets, rest areas, snack stalls, restaurants, water stations, and small souvenir shops.
Main areas and temples are accessible, but hiking trails can be steep and uneven, making some areas challenging for elderly or disabled visitors.
Both cash and mobile payments (WeChat Pay, Alipay) are widely accepted. Credit/debit cards may also be used in major facilities.
