Introducing Ancient Stone City
The Ancient Stone City is located in Liaowu Village, approximately 800 meters east of Duheng in Shixing, Guangdong Province, and 7 kilometers from the Chebaling National Nature Reserve. Research indicates it is the oldest stone city discovered in Shixing, dating back over 500 years.
The Stone City is built on a mountainside, nestled between the hillside and the water. It features 18 stone steps on each side, though one side has been washed away by water. A three-story mud brick enclosure, covering 2,600 square meters, faces eastward, embracing the rising sun, creating a magnificent scene. The entire foundation, streets, and square of Liaowu Village are built of stone. Within the enclosure, there are stone tables, benches, millstones, jars, basins, stoves, and other stone household items. Among these, there are various mysterious stones, known to local villagers as the "Eight Strange Stones": the Heavenly Book Stone, the Mosquito Stone, the White Lion Stone, the Crab Eye Stone, the Gourd Stone, the Healing Stone, the Altar Stone, and the Hydrangea Stone.
