
Huazhong University of Science and Technology is located in Wuhan, the birthplace of Chu culture in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It was established by the merger of the former Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tongji Medical University, and Wuhan Institute of Urban Construction. It is a national key university and one of the first batch of key construction universities in the "985 Project", "211 Project", and "2011 Project". It is known as "a microcosm of the development of higher education in New China."
The campus covers an area of more than 7,000 acres, nestled against mountains and beside rivers, with green grass and lush trees, a beautiful environment and picturesque scenery. It is known as the "Forest University" and is an ideal place for studying and conducting research.
