Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou's largest comprehensive park and a 4A-rated scenic spot, comprises its main peak, Yuejinggang, along with seven surrounding hills, including Guihuagang, Mukegang, and Liyugang, and three artificial lakes: Beixiu, Nanxiu, and Dongxiu. Yuexiu Mountain, the main feature of the park, is named after the "Chaohan Terrace" built on the mountain by Zhao Tuo, the King of Nanyue during the Western Han Dynasty.
The park houses the ancient Chu Courtyard and Foshan Memorial Archway, the ancient city wall, the Sifang Fort, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Monument, the monument of Sun Yat-sen's study and administration office, the tomb of Wu Tingfang, the tomb of the Ming Shaowu emperor and his ministers, the Seaman's Pavilion, the stone statue of the Five Rams, the sculpture group of the Legend of the Five Rams, the spherical water tower and other attractions.
Zhenhai Tower
Zhenhai Tower is known as the most scenic spot in Lingnan. Its five stories give it the nickname "Five-Storey Tower." Built in 1380 by Zhu Liangzu, Marquis of Yongjia, it was originally named "Wanghai Tower" and later renamed "Zhenhai Tower," symbolizing its majestic presence at sea. It was converted into the Guangzhou Museum in 1956.
