Yushan Park, located north of Guilin City, is named after Yushan Mountain and the Temple of Emperor Yu within the park. With its picturesque garden, enchanting temples, and secluded caves, the park boasts a planned area of 12,000 square meters. It is the city's most beautiful and largest imitation of ancient gardens, the birthplace of Guilin's scenic landscapes, and the source of its history.
It has a subtropical monsoon climate with a relatively mild climate, long summers and short winters, abundant annual precipitation, and plenty of sunshine. The annual average temperature is 19 degrees Celsius, with sufficient sunlight, four distinct seasons, no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer.
The most famous sight in Yushan Park is called "Shundong Fragrant Breeze," one of Guilin's eight famous scenic spots. It can be heard at the entrance of Shaoyin Cave. "Shundong Fragrant Breeze" is a combination of the sound of the wind in Shaoyin Cave, the sound of the flowing water in Huangze Bay, and the sound of the wind blowing through the trees.
Another worthwhile attraction is the Yu Emperor Temple within the park, built during the Qin Dynasty to commemorate the passing of Emperor Yu, the ancestor of the Chinese nation, during his southern tour. A statue of Guanyin, over 1,400 years old, can be found on the cliffs east of Yushan.
In addition, from February to March every year, the golden camellia in the park enters its blooming period, with golden flowers blooming among the dark green leaves; from March to April, the crabapple flowers in the park are in full bloom, a sea of pink, which is very beautiful.
