Rudong County is located in the southeastern part of Jiangsu Province, on the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta in the north of Nantong City. It is one of the three northern counties of Nantong City.
Rudong is blessed with unique coastal resources, earning it the reputation of "China's Seafood Capital." With a coastline stretching over 100 kilometers and 1.04 million mu of mudflats, accounting for one-ninth of the province's total, the region boasts over 50 varieties of seafood, including clams, eels, porphyra, and lugworms, known as the "Four Treasures of the South Yellow Sea."
"Disco on the Sea" and "Symphony in the Sky" are famous special tourism projects in Rudong County. The coastal scenic area driven by the development of Yangkou Port has also become more mature.
Rudong County belongs to the northern subtropical marine monsoon climate zone, with distinct four seasons, sufficient sunshine, mild and humid weather.
Yangkou Port
"Xiaoyangkou" refers generally to Yangkou Town in Rudong County and the Rudong Coastal Economic Development Zone. It's not a place name per se; it's a term used by Rudong locals to distinguish it from Yangkou Port (Dayangkou). Today, Xiaoyangkou has become a popular tourist destination, a comprehensive tourist resort offering sightseeing, leisure vacations, seafood dining, wetland recreation, and outdoor activities. A visit to Xiaoyangkou allows you to fully experience the seaside charm, sample delicious seafood such as plump clams, and appreciate the beauty of nature.
