Lu Xiufu Memorial Hall
Jianyang is the birthplace of Lu Xiufu, a Southern Song Dynasty prime minister and hero who fought against the Yuan Dynasty. In February 1279, when the Yuan army captured Yashan, he refused to be captured by the enemy. He led his wife and children into the sea, then calmly carried the young emperor on his back, composing a tragic and heroic patriotic tale of resisting the enemy, sacrificing his family for his country, and ultimately sacrificing his life for his country. For this reason, he has been deeply remembered and revered by the people for generations. In the 47th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, Lu Xiufu was granted the title of "Lord of Loyalty and Martyrdom."
