Taibai County, nestled in the heart of the Qinling Mountains, is named after Mount Taibai, the region's main peak. With long winters and no summers, Taibai boasts a continuous spring and autumn, making it a veritable "natural air-conditioning city" and a popular destination for enjoying the auspicious snow in winter and escaping the scorching summer heat. "Taibai Snow Covered in June" is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Guanzhong.
Taibai boasts the ancient Baoxiang Road, built thousands of years ago and spanning 114 kilometers across the county. It's the oldest, longest-used, and largest ancient plank road in history. The Yaowang Valley Scenic Area is said to be where the Medicine King Sun Simiao retreated and practiced in seclusion on Taibai Mountain. Qingfeng Mountain, a sacred Buddhist site, boasts perpetual ice caves—Dahan Cave, Ziyang Cave, and Luohan Cave—as well as attractions such as Sheshen Cliff, the Nanhai Guanyin Dharma Plate Giant Stone, Shenxian Bridge, and the Eight Treasures. Furthermore, the area has developed diverse tourism opportunities, including leisure vacations, forest recreation, eco-tourism, rock climbing, and ice skating.
