Introducing Danfeng
Danfeng County is located in southeastern Shaanxi Province, at the southern foot of the eastern Qinling Mountains. It gets its name from the fact that the county seat borders the Danjiang River and is nestled against Fengguan Mountain. Danfeng County boasts beautiful scenery and serves as the "back garden" of Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province. Despite years of erosion, the Fengguan Mountain Scenic Area still retains its majestic and elegant natural features. "Shangshan Snowy Clearing" in Shangshan Forest Park is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Shangzhou, home to over 1,200 plant species. Dihua, once known as the "Palace of Epiphyllums," is one of the Ten Views of Shangzhou. During the Tang Dynasty, it served as the Dihua Posthouse, where poets such as Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi frequently composed poems. Danfeng County is also the fief of the renowned reformer Shang Yang, the retreat of the Four Haos, and the hometown of renowned contemporary writer Jia Pingwa.
