Baiyu Temple, located on the northern slope of Baiyu County in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is one of the three largest Nyingma Lama temples in the Kham-Tibet region and one of the five major temples supported by the Tusi of Derge. The temple was selected and built in the 14th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty ( 1675 ).

The auspicious terrain surrounding the temple earned its name, " Auspicious and Victorious Bodhi Continent ." Its full Tibetan name is " Baiyu Langjie Jiangqiulin , " and it's commonly referred to as Baiyu Temple, with " Baiyu " meaning " auspicious place . " The temple occupies an entire mountain near the county seat, with temples and huts where lamas practice their meditation.
