Introducing South Wutai Mountain
South Wutai Mountain is located 50 miles south of Chang'an District, Xi'an City, at the foot of Zhongnan Mountain, stretching for about ten miles. It has five strange peaks, the highest of which is called Dading. The other four peaks are Qingliang, Wenshu, Lingying, Sheshen and Guanyin, also known as Wutai, hence the name Wutai Mountain.
This is the most beautiful part of the Nanshan Mountains. Three miles east of Yao County lies North Wutai Mountain, a region in Yunnan distinct from Yao County. South Wutai Mountain boasts over 40 temples of varying sizes dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties , each boasting exquisite architecture and unique layout. The mountain is steep and offers breathtaking scenery.
