Introducing Fayun Ancient Village

Fayun Ancient Village is located within the Lingyin Scenic Area, adjacent to Lingyin Temple. A small stream called Lengquan runs alongside Fayun Lane (the village's main thoroughfare). Historically, Fayun Ancient Village was one of Hangzhou's earliest residential areas. Legend has it that the source of money deep within the village was the site of an early county government office. Numerous traditional residential buildings with a rich historical character are preserved here.

The entire village has now been transformed into the Amanfayun Hotel, which features 47 independent courtyards, each with its own name on the door curtain. These courtyards flank the 600-meter-long creekside path, the Fayun Trail. This trail connects Yongfu Temple and Lingyin Temple, and pilgrims can still use it to travel between the two temples.
