Introducing Luohan Temple

Luohan Temple, located on Minzu Road in Yuzhong District, is one of the key Buddhist temples in the Han ethnic region of China. The temple was built because of the Luohan Cave. "Records of Famous Places in Shu" states: "Zhiping Temple...has two caves, Luohan and Xiantian, both ancient caves."

The more than 20-meter-long Ancient Buddha Rock in Luohan Temple houses more than 400 Song Dynasty rock-carved Buddha statues, including the Reclining Buddha statue (commonly known as the "Sleeping Buddha"), Guanyin statues and donor statues, which are quite similar in style to the Dazu Baoding Mountain rock carvings.

This is also the filming location of the movie "Crazy Stone", and many tourists come here for this reason.
