Lianhua Peak is the highest peak in the Huangshan Scenic Area. The highest of the 36 major peaks, it stands at 1,864.8 meters above sea level. It is located between the Yuping Tower and Aoyu Peak hiking trails. The climbing path to Lianhua Peak is five miles long and reaches a height of 110 meters. In 1997, a new 500-meter hiking trail was opened in Lianhuagou, featuring a climbing path, a trestle bridge, and an observation deck.
Lotus Peak stands tall and majestic. Its name stems from the prominent main peak, surrounded by clusters of smaller peaks, resembling a newly blossomed lotus, reaching toward the sky. The ascent begins with a gentle slope known as the "Lotus Stem," through which pass four stone caves, known in ancient times as "Lotus Holes." The caves rise steeply, and visitors ascend the steps, feeling as if they were navigating a lotus hole, like "ant curling out of a flower calyx." The scenery along the way is breathtaking, with cliff inscriptions such as "What a wonderful creation," "Not of this world," "Well-deserved reputation," and "A Wonderful Spectacle of the Sea and Sky" etched on the peak's walls. At the foot of the peak lie the Lotus Cave and the Lotus Spring.
