Doushan Mountain, part of the Jianmen Shudao National Scenic Area, is a renowned Danxia landform in Sichuan Province. With ten major tourist areas and twenty-eight scenic spots, it is known as one of the world's most unique mountains. Its unique peaks, the iron rope crossing, the Flying Heavenly Tibetan Temple, the white pine trees, the Yunyan Temple, and the natural gliding path are known as the mountain's "Six Wonders." From the entrance archway, a 513-meter-long stone staircase, the Tongtiandao, leads to the summit. The 806 steps rise to the clouds.
Yunyan Temple, an ancient temple in the mountains, was built during the Qianfu period of the Tang Dynasty. The temple is majestic and imposing, standing on the rocks and facing the mountain. It has experienced the alternating destruction and repair during the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the struggle between Buddhism and Taoism, and finally formed the "Eastern Zen Forest and Western Taoist Temple". The Buddhist and Taoist cultures are integrated with ancient architecture, making it a very special ancient building complex among the current temple architectures in China.
