The Erwang Temple ancient building complex is located at the foot of Yulei Mountain outside the west gate of today's Dujiangyan Irrigation System. It is an important part of the Dujiangyan World Cultural Heritage. The temple was built to commemorate Li Bing, the founder of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System and the prefect of Qin Shu Commandery, and his son Erlang.

Erwang Temple was first built during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, with the existing structure constructed in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. The three golden characters "Erwang Temple" on the mountain gate were inscribed by the patriotic general Feng Yuxiang. Within the temple are statues of Li Bing and Erlang. Embedded in the stone walls are aphorisms on flood control by Li Bing and his descendants, known as the "Three-Character Classic of Water Control." To the right of the rear hall are inscriptions by painters such as Zhang Daqian and Xu Beihong. The garden is filled with a variety of valuable flowers and trees, with towering ancient trees offering shade and making it a popular tourist attraction in Sichuan.

The Erwang Temple was severely damaged during the Wenchuan earthquake, but has regained its popularity after reconstruction. A temple fair is held every year from the 24th to the 26th day of the sixth lunar month.
