Introducing Qinyan Tower

Qinyan Tower, named after the Qin Dynasty, where the Dujiangyan Irrigation System was built, offers the best panoramic views of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System. Built in the 1990s, the tower boasts a sophisticated structure and a striking, modern aesthetic reminiscent of a traditional Chinese building. Before its construction, it served as a viewing platform, also known as the "Happiness Platform."

Climbing the Qinyan Tower offers a breathtaking view of the Dujiangyan Irrigation System's three major water conservancy projects, the Anlan Bridge, the Erwang Temple, the ancient post road, the majestic Yulei Pass, the Minling Snow Mountains, and the Qingcheng Peaks. Destroyed by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, the building was deemed not to be a historical relic. After evaluation, the Dujiangyan Cultural Relics Bureau decided to demolish and rebuild it, reopening it in 2011.
