The Civil Aviation Flight University of China is directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Its predecessor was the Civil Aviation Administration of China Aviation School, which was established in May 1956 with the approval of Premier Zhou Enlai and under the military and political leadership appointed by Chairman Mao Zedong.
The school covers an area of more than 17,000 mu and has a construction area of more than 1.5 million square meters. The total value of fixed assets exceeds 9 billion yuan (excluding land asset value), of which the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 6.2 billion yuan. It has 5 airports, equipped with 14 types of aircraft, including Citation, Cheyenne, Xianzhou 600, Simeonol, TB, Cessna-172, etc., a total of 236 primary, intermediate and advanced trainer aircraft and 35 full flight simulators, fixed simulators and trainers including Boeing 737-300, 800, Airbus 320, etc., more than 400 aircraft engines of various types and the only 360-degree full-view tower control system among Chinese civil aviation colleges and universities.
