Introducing Poetry History Hall

The Poetry and History Hall, the third and main structure located on the central axis of the Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum, houses the more than 1,400 poems left by Du Fu, which vividly depict social life in the Tang Dynasty before and after the An-Shi Rebellion, and chart the dynasty's rise and fall.

The Poetry and History Hall, covering over 100 square meters, is the largest building in the Thatched Cottage. Well into the Qing Dynasty, it was a place where poets and writers paid tribute to Du Fu and chanted poems. Two antique round tables still stand in the hall, evoking the scenes of scholars writing and chanting at that time.
