The Mount Emei Museum, located on the shores of Phoenix Lake near Baoguo Temple in the Emeishan Scenic Area, is the first modern geographical museum in a Chinese scenic area to integrate geology, flora and fauna, history, religion, and folklore. With an exhibition area of 5,200 square meters, the museum boasts a majestic and elegant atmosphere, integrating the cultural heritage of Mount Emei with its natural landscape, highlighting the profoundness of its natural and cultural heritage.
The Emeishan Museum integrates the preservation of cultural relics and specimens, academic research, and social education, all managed using modern scientific methods. It comprises a visitor information center, a geology hall, a flora and fauna hall, a hall dedicated to the Ancient Shu Emei Culture, a Buddhist culture hall, a Taoist culture hall, a calligraphy and painting hall, and a film and television hall. The film and television hall utilizes high-tech technology to depict the rise and fall of Mount Emei over the past 800 million years. The geology hall showcases the ancient and remarkable geological and geomorphological evolution of Mount Emei. The biology hall features six ecological landscape displays, visually and vividly showcasing the antiquity, typicality, and diversity of Mount Emei's biodiversity, representing the "Four Wonders" of nature.
