The Huangniu Stone Nature Reserve in Lianping, Guangdong, is located in the Jiulian Mountains of northern Guangdong, north of Lianping County. The reserve is a low-to-medium mountainous area, surrounded by majestic peaks. Its highest peak, Huangniu Stone Peak, stands at 1,430 meters, making it the highest peak in northeastern Guangdong. The area boasts numerous streams, undulating cliffs, and dozens of waterfalls. The reserve's geology is ancient, consisting of Mesozoic Yanshanian granite with associated metal deposits.

The area is densely forested and belongs to natural secondary broad-leaved forest. There are many kinds of precious forest plants and wild animals. So far, 1 species of first-class national key protected plants and 12 species of second-class national key protected plants have been discovered, as well as 4 species of first-class national key protected wild animals and 10 species of second-class national key protected wild animals. It is a treasure house of plants and an animal paradise.
