Zhang Xueliang's former residence, located at No. 32 Road in the French Concession (now No. 78 Chifeng Road in Heping District), is a Western-style imitation building. While in Tianjin, the most distinctive and representative residence of this legendary figure in modern Chinese history is the Zhang Xueliang Former Residence Museum.
The building boasts a luxurious, beautiful, and elegant design. The second and third floors of the front building feature roof terraces. The interior is spacious and elegant, with Philippine wood used for the staircase, flooring, doors, and windows. Sanitary facilities are complete, and the courtyard is extensively lawned. The Zhang Xueliang Former Residence Museum, located on Chifeng Road in Heping District, houses over 300 artifacts, providing a panoramic view of the Zhang family's life in Tianjin's French Concession.

This is an early building of the Marshal's Mansion, the centerpiece of the complex, situated on the central axis. The main structure features carved stone column bases and corner stones, inlaid with relief stone slabs at the wall bases, and brick carvings on the wall tops. The door steps and hanging plum balustrades are exquisitely carved, and the lintels, eaves, purlins, corridor columns, doors, and windows are uniquely decorated with colorful oil paintings, making them highly ornamental.
Small brothel
The Small Green House, a two-story building in the east courtyard, faces south. It has five rooms on each floor, a central entrance, and a porch. Built with blue bricks and tiles, it is a classic Chinese architectural style and one of the earliest structures in the Marshal's Mansion. The Large Green House, a three-story building facing south, is a polygonal brick-concrete structure inspired by European Gothic architecture. Its blue brick walls and white cement edging create a striking, elegant contrast between black and white.
