The Sand Island Ecological Reserve, nestled between Banana Bay and Eluanbi, is a small, natural bay famous for its pristine white shell sand. Due to its unique topography, the entire beach is composed of shells and coral debris carried by the waves, creating a unique landscape. In the past, the beach earned its name from the accumulation of shell sand, which resembled small islands.
The shell sand here is over 97% pure , the highest of all beaches in Kenting. The beautiful shell sand here is a great place for photos and is well worth seeing.
Among the long coastline of Kenting National Park, in addition to the two southernmost capes, Sand Island also has a reef coast, which is quite unique.
