Dapeng Bay Scenic Area, located on the southwest coast of Taiwan, is Taiwan's largest inland bay. It is located at the junction of Donggang Township and Linbian Township in Pingtung County, close to Provincial Highway 17 , and is an inland lagoon.
From a bird's eye view, the bay resembles a sac, earning the name "Single-Balloon Lagoon" (Single-Balloon Lagoon). Dapeng Bay marks the southern boundary of Taiwan's mangrove forests. Currently, three areas with distinct mangrove belts are visible: the Dapeng Bay waterway mangroves, the sea sedges on the Jialian Road bank, and the Donggang Township waterway mangroves.
Dapeng Bay is Taiwan's largest inland bay, boasting a rich array of flora and fauna. The area boasts unique mangroves, including the sea ash, and coastal plants such as saddle vine, agarwood, and bitterwood. The animal landscape is dominated by birds, fish, and soft-shelled turtles, with 95 bird species present, including migratory and transient birds, and fish such as groupers. The fiddler crabs that inhabit the wetlands are particularly distinctive.

There is no entrance fee to visit Dapeng Bay Scenic Area. However, certain activities like boat tours or bike rentals may have additional charges, which can be paid on-site.
Booking in advance is not necessary for general visits. However, for boat tours or guided activities, it is advisable to book at least a day before your visit, especially during peak seasons.
It takes about 2 to 3 hours to explore the main attractions of Dapeng Bay, including cycling around the bay, visiting the Dapeng Bay Bridge, and enjoying some water activities.
Guided tours are available, especially for boat rides and cycling trips. These tours are usually conducted in Mandarin, but some may offer English-speaking guides upon request.
There are no light shows or night tours available at Dapeng Bay. However, the bay area can be enjoyed at night for a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.
