Yuntaishan, a dolomite karst landform located in northern Shibing County, lies 13 kilometers from the county seat. The Yuntaishan Scenic Area, a major component of the Wuyang River National Scenic Area, comprises Yuntaishan, Waiyingtai, Jiaodingshan, and Datianzang peaks. Covering an area of ​​approximately 210 square kilometers, its main peak, Tuanlunyan, rises 1,066 meters above sea level, protruding from the surrounding mountains. Its peak, sheared from all sides and rising halfway up the clouds, resembles a platform, and shrouded in mist, gives it the name Yuntaishan.

On June 23, 2014, the 38th World Heritage Committee meeting held in Doha, Qatar reviewed and approved the application of the second phase of China's Southern Karst for World Natural Heritage, represented by Yuntaishan in Shibing, Guizhou. Yuntaishan became the third World Natural Heritage in Guizhou Province.
