Located in Changshun County, Guizhou Province, the Dujuan Lake Scenic Area features a 7- kilometer -long artificial lake surrounded by mountains. Its vast expanse, its waters emerald green, a mirror-like hue, shrouded by misty mountaintops and ripples brushing the shores below. Dujuan Lake boasts nearly 90% forest coverage , home to pristine evergreen azaleas.
The Azalea Lake Scenic Area boasts 17 scenic spots, including Pearl Spring, Flower Hill, Monk Hill, Huangli Chong, and Azalea Ridge , covering an area of 60 square kilometers. Combining mountains, water, and culture, the scenic area boasts a large alpine azalea forest , Baiyun Mountain, a renowned historical mountain in China, the mysterious Yelang Ancient City, Guangshun Yelang Ancient Town, the Wuma River Waterfalls, and the Getu River Grand Canyon, among other renowned attractions.
Dujuan Lake is well connected with Huangguoshu Lake, Dragon Palace, Hongfeng Lake, Huaxi and other famous scenic spots, forming a comprehensive tourist route that combines the wonders of the world, the miracles of history and the tranquility of the plateau.
From February to May every year , azaleas bloom all over the mountains and around the lake. From May to July , there is a bumper harvest of bayberries . From July to September , the mountains are covered with wild chestnuts, various fragrant mushrooms, and numerous migratory birds fill the area around the lake.
