Explore the ancient residences of Liujiafan, walk through the beautifully preserved traditional architecture, and learn about the local history and culture. Enjoy the serene environment and take photos of the ancient structures and surrounding landscapes.

The Liujiafan Ancient Dwellings are located in Hubin Village, Changlinhe Town, southeast of Hefei City, Anhui Province, 25 kilometers south of Feidong County. The majority of Liujiafan residents are surnamed Wu. The village has produced numerous talented individuals, including a Huai Army general, a deputy naval minister during the Beiyang Warlord era, and a Kuomintang major general acting as acting chief of staff. These prominent figures in their careers built large-scale buildings and acquired land in their hometown, bringing unprecedented prosperity to Liujiafan.
Liujiafan boasts six large blocks of ancient mansions, comprising 13 houses, 33 main rooms, 505 living rooms, 205 side rooms, five alleys, a public and private Wu ancestral hall, a lake-viewing tower, and two gardens. These houses are all Hui-style, featuring dark bricks and gray tiles, and eaves that curve along the mountain slopes. Each house is flanked by tall fire walls, intricate brick and wood carvings, and meticulously crafted.
The ancient dwellings of Liujiafan were demolished and rebuilt during the early 1950s, following the arrival of a rehabilitation hospital, the subsequent military garrison, the Great Leap Forward, and the "Four Olds" campaign during the Cultural Revolution. They have been completely altered. Some are left with only outlines, others are empty courtyards with only two valuable trees, and some have collapsed naturally due to neglect. Three of these still retain their original architectural features and can be restored to their original appearance through renovation. They comprise eight buildings, 21 rows, 95 main rooms, and 55 side rooms.
