Suggest for SIM in South Korea

Hi,

Just to pass on some info.Im in SK at the moment and I wanted to get a sim card for 10 days, and the shop assistant suggested buy data rather than days. So I bought a 15GB data card for 39,000 which is about 26.5 euros. I tend to use max .5GB a day at worst, and that is using maps, google searches etc. So it works out a lot cheaper. And there is no way I will use the 15GB, but it's there as a cushion in case!

Be sure that your phone is unlocked for SIM before you travel.

My suggestion is to get KT e-sim if your phone has e-sim functionality. The price is very reasonable and I had no issues during my weeklong stay in Korea. You can go to https://roaming.kt.com/ for more information.

I think it doesn't support 5G so you'll be on LTE at all times, but it was fast enough to do anything I needed to do (browse Reddit, watch videos, lookup things, access maps). You get 3GB of faster speed per day and once you use that up, you get unlimited 5Mbps, which isn't bad. I don't think I ever exceeded 3GB in a day and I think it is way more than enough. The 3GB daily limit resets every midnight.

One thing to note is that you will get a phone number starting with 012 instead of standard 010, if you decide to receive the e-sim through your email, instead of receiving in the airport. Unless you need the standard 010 number, I would just go with receiving the e-sim virtually as it is more convenient and reduces the time you'll need to stay at the airport.

Once I arrived in Korea, I was able to connect to the airport Wifi and activate the e-sim as I was walking to the customs checkpoint!

Hi, Can you tell me where you can buy data SIMs? We fly into Seoul (Incheon) on the 28th March and are staying in SK for 15 days. Your 15GB data card is good advise. Was the price for a physical or e-SIM? My Samsung phone only takes physical cards. Many thanks.
