Help with Restaurant Recs to Purchase Gift Cards

My son and gf are moving to Savannah in January and we will be going down to visit them and help them move in etc. Would like to give them a notebook full of some gift cards to local Savannah restaurants and coffee shops etc. as a Christmas present. They are young 23/22 year olds just in first jobs. Nice places but doesn't need to be super duper fancy places. Currently already have gift cards for:

Treylor Park

Crystal Beer Parlor

Collins Quarter

They will be living in the Historic District but are open to ubering around. Moving from Oklahoma so want them to enjoy the beauty of Savannah!!! THanks for any suggestions!! Would especially love a great coffee shop or bakery near Forsyth Park!!!

That’s such a thoughtful gift idea! Savannah has a vibrant food scene, and there are plenty of spots that your son and his girlfriend will enjoy without being overly fancy. Since they’ll be living in the Historic District, many great options are walkable, and Uber or scooters make the slightly farther locations easy to reach. Here’s a mix of casual restaurants, coffee shops, and bakeries that would make for a nice variety in your gift card notebook.

Restaurants and casual dining spots:

  • Fox & Fig Café – A popular vegetarian/vegan café with healthy options and great coffee; perfect for breakfast or lunch.
  • Sandfly BBQ – Excellent casual BBQ with a local following; fun and relaxed atmosphere.
  • The Collins Quarter at Forsyth – Since you already have a gift card for the original Collins Quarter, this location near Forsyth Park is perfect for brunch or coffee.
  • Local 11ten – Slightly upscale but approachable, serving Southern-inspired cuisine; nice for a date night.
  • Zunzi’s – Casual, eclectic, and delicious sandwiches with a fun vibe.

Coffee shops and bakeries near Forsyth Park:

  • Back in the Day Bakery – Famous for classic Southern pastries, biscuits, and cakes; perfect for a sweet treat gift card.
  • Sentient Bean – Iconic coffee shop with excellent locally roasted coffee and a cozy vibe.
  • Foxy Loxy Café – A coffee and taco spot with a relaxed atmosphere; great for breakfast or a light lunch.
  • The Paris Market & Café – Quaint café with pastries, coffee, and light bites; a charming spot for a casual visit.

Additional fun Savannah spots:

  • Treylor Park – Already on your list; casual and creative Southern fare.
  • Crystal Beer Parlor – Also on your list; fun and historic spot with burgers and beer.
  • Leopold’s Ice Cream – Classic ice cream parlor; perfect for a sweet treat gift card.

Including a mix of brunch spots, casual dinners, coffee, and treats will give them plenty of options to explore Savannah’s food scene while being manageable for two young adults just starting out. Most of these places are walkable from the Historic District, and Uber/Lyft makes reaching the few that are slightly farther away easy and convenient.
