Looking at spending a few days in Savannah. 3 women in 50's and 60's.
In looking at a map, we're looking in the rectangle that is between Forsyth Park and the River, and then between Barnard Street and East Broad Street. Is that area pretty safe overall? Should we also be looking at other areas. We'll be walking a lot. We won't be out after about 9:00 at night.
Thanks for your help!
Savannah is a beautiful and historic city, and the area you're considering for your Airbnb stay, between Forsyth Park and the River, and between Barnard Street and East Broad Street, is an excellent choice. It is one of the most popular and vibrant parts of the city, offering a perfect mix of charm, convenience, and easy access to Savannah's main attractions. Here's a detailed look at the safety and convenience of the area you're considering, along with some tips for your stay:
Safety of the Area:

It is in the heart of historic Savannah, which is a popular destination for both tourists and locals. The streets are well-lit, and you will find many restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby. However, like any urban area, it's always important to stay alert, particularly in less crowded spots or late at night.
Since you plan on returning to your accommodation by around 9:00 PM, it is worth noting that Savannah is generally quieter in the evenings, especially in residential areas. However, River Street and the historic district remain lively with people enjoying bars, shops, and evening activities.
