Are there sidewalks along hwy 76

Are there walkways along hiway 76? I am hoping I will not need to rent a car. I just want to pick a hotel along hwy 76 and walk to most places. I could take an uber to and from the airport.

Highway 76 in Branson, also known as the “Strip,” is the main entertainment corridor with most of the theaters, attractions, restaurants, and shops. Sidewalks exist along much of the highway, especially in areas near popular hotels, theaters, and tourist spots, but there are stretches where sidewalks are narrow, intermittent, or set back from the road.

Walking is possible, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The sidewalks are often crowded, particularly in the evening and on weekends, so walking can be slow in busy areas.
  • Some intersections may require crossing multiple lanes of traffic, so be cautious and use crosswalks where available.
  • Not all hotels have direct pedestrian access to the Strip; some may require a short walk along roads without sidewalks or slightly uphill/downhill paths.

If your goal is to stay in a hotel within walking distance of most attractions:

  • Focus on hotels directly on or very near Highway 76, such as those between the Branson Landing area and the downtown theater district.
  • Consider places that have pedestrian-friendly access to theaters, restaurants, and shops so you minimize walking along busy or less safe sections of the highway.
  • Uber, Lyft, or local trolleys are convenient for any stretches where walking might be difficult or if you want to avoid long walks at night.

In summary, you can manage without a car if you pick a hotel centrally located on the Strip, but be prepared for some short walks along areas that may not have continuous or wide sidewalks. For safety and convenience, especially at night, a combination of walking and rideshare is recommended.
