Captain for my boat
We have a 29 ft Tritoon and are looking for a captain to drive our boat August 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Anyone have recommendations on where to find a good captain?
Finding a reliable captain for your boat at the Lake of the Ozarks is quite doable, especially during the busy summer season. Many local captains are experienced with pontoons and tritoons and can provide safe and enjoyable outings.
Ways to Find a Captain:
- Check with local marinas such as Bagnell Dam, Captain Ron’s, or Grand Glaize Marina. Many keep lists of licensed captains available for hire.
- Search online platforms like Lake of the Ozarks local boating groups on Facebook, or websites like GetMyBoat or HireACaptain.com, where captains list their availability.
- Ask for personal recommendations from local boat rental companies or fellow boaters; word-of-mouth is often the most reliable.
Tips for Hiring:
- Confirm the captain’s credentials and experience, especially with the type and size of your boat (29 ft Tritoon).
- Discuss the itinerary, duration, and any special requirements you may have for the days you need service.
- Agree on rates upfront, including fuel, docking fees, or gratuities.
Booking as early as possible is recommended, particularly for weekend dates in August, as captains tend to get booked quickly. With some research and local inquiries, you should be able to find a knowledgeable and dependable captain to enhance your boating experience.
