chicago magnificent mile nightlife

I am a 23 year old going to Chicago in December. I am looking for recommendations for fun bars to go to close to magnificent mile as that’s where we will be staying. I prefer busy young adults/college bar feel. Thanks in advance

Chicago's Magnificent Mile area is bustling with nightlife options that cater to young adults and college crowds. Whether you're looking for a lively bar to dance or a chill spot to have a few drinks, the area has something for everyone. Here are a few fun spots you should consider checking out:

  • Weezy’s Cocktail Bar - A lively bar with a fun vibe, great cocktails, and a young crowd. It's not too far from the Magnificent Mile, making it a good spot to hit after some shopping or sightseeing.
  • The Aviary - If you're looking for a unique experience, this upscale cocktail bar offers innovative drinks and a modern atmosphere. While it’s a bit more on the chic side, the vibe is still energetic, especially on weekends.
  • The Signature Room at the 95th - If you’re looking for something with a great view, head to the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center. It’s more relaxed, but it offers an iconic experience with a great drink menu and views of the city skyline. Perfect if you're looking to mix nightlife with stunning scenery.
  • Three Dots and a Dash - This tiki bar offers a tropical vibe with a lot of energy. Located in River North (just a short trip from the Magnificent Mile), it’s a great spot for fun, colorful cocktails, and a lively crowd.
  • The Green Mill Cocktail Lounge - While a bit more classic, The Green Mill is a Chicago institution with a historic vibe. If you're looking for a lively, retro-style spot with jazz music, this is a fun choice. It can be a bit more low-key but still attracts a good crowd.
  • Shaw’s Crab House - For something a little different, Shaw's has a lively oyster bar with a more upscale crowd. It’s not exactly a college bar, but it’s perfect for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood and a bustling atmosphere.
  • Big Star - Located in Wicker Park (a short Uber ride from the Magnificent Mile), Big Star is a fun, laid-back spot with great tacos, tequila, and a young, energetic crowd. It’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a more casual vibe while still being near the action.

Most of these bars and lounges are popular with both locals and visitors, and they tend to get busier as the night goes on, especially on weekends. If you’re looking to make a night of it, try hopping between a couple of these spots for variety!

Enjoy your trip and have fun exploring Chicago's nightlife!
