How to pay ipass tolls showing on the site?

A accrued some tolls 10 days ago while driving through Illinois. I didn't have a payment method set up on the ipass site. I added that now, but for some reason I can't figure out how to pay the tolls showing in the site now. There is only a method to add a payment option, which I've now done, but I can't figure out how to apply that payment method to the tolls outstanding. I feel like it would be obvious, but can't seem to figure it out. Can someone help me before it goes past 14 days and I got stuck with a bigger bill from all the fees? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you're trying to resolve your unpaid tolls on the Illinois I-PASS system, and it's frustrating not being able to figure out how to apply your new payment method. Here’s how you can address the issue and ensure your tolls are paid on time:

Typically, when you add a payment method to your I-PASS account, it should automatically be applied to any outstanding tolls on your account. However, if you're seeing the tolls listed but can’t find an option to pay them, it’s possible that the system hasn’t yet processed your payment method for these specific tolls. Here’s what you can do:

  • Check your I-PASS Account Dashboard: Log into your account and make sure the payment method you added is active and linked to your account. Sometimes, you may need to refresh the page or wait for a few minutes after adding a new payment method before it reflects properly.
  • Review Toll History: Once your payment method is linked, check your toll history for any charges that remain unpaid. You should see an option to pay for any outstanding tolls. If you don't see a "pay" button, the tolls might still be processing, or you may need to take an additional step to activate payment for those specific tolls.
  • Manual Payment Option: If the system is still not allowing you to pay, try looking for a "Pay by Plate" or "Pay Toll" option. This will typically allow you to enter your vehicle’s plate number and pay any tolls incurred during your trip without needing a transponder (I-PASS). This method may work if the tolls haven’t yet been linked to your account.
  • Contact Customer Service: If you’ve added a payment method and the tolls still aren’t reflecting properly, you can contact I-PASS customer service directly. They can help ensure your payment is applied correctly and help resolve any issues before the 14-day window passes. The contact number for customer service should be available on the I-PASS website.

If you wait past the 14-day period, fees may be added for unpaid tolls, so it's important to try to address this issue promptly. If all else fails, customer service should be able to assist with manually applying the payment or resolving any system errors on your account.
