Las Vegas during Christmas can be quite festive, even though it's not a traditional winter wonderland. The city brings its own special holiday flair with light displays, events, and holiday-themed shows, which make it a fun place to be during the holiday season. If you're looking for the closest thing to Christmas in Vegas, here are some options:
First off, Christmas displays and events will be in full swing around town, especially in casinos and hotels. Here are some top spots to visit:
- Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens: The Bellagio transforms its garden into a winter wonderland with massive Christmas displays, including poinsettias, holiday lights, and themed sculptures. It's a must-see if you're in town during Christmas.
- The Venetian: The Venetian features its annual Winter in Venice celebration, with snowfalls in the outdoor plaza, holiday decorations, and special ice skating rinks in the area.
- Fremont Street Experience: While Fremont Street isn't traditionally Christmas-themed, the massive LED canopy lights up the entire area with beautiful holiday displays, including a Christmas light show. It's a lively spot to get into the spirit of things.
- Ice Skating at the Cosmopolitan: The Cosmopolitan creates a magical winter experience with its ice rink on the rooftop. This is one of the few places where you can actually ice skate under the Las Vegas skyline, and it has a great festive atmosphere.
If you're looking for live entertainment to get you in the holiday mood, several Vegas shows incorporate holiday themes or have special Christmas editions:
- Christmas Shows: Some popular shows, like “The Nutcracker” at The Smith Center or the “Terry Fator Holiday Show,” feature Christmas-themed performances, and they are great for getting into the festive spirit.
- Holiday Concerts: Many casinos and venues offer special holiday concerts with famous performers or themed music during December. Check out concert schedules closer to your trip for availability.
For a truly festive atmosphere, consider visiting the following spots:
