Kaufman Stadium

Good morning, I am trying to find information on getting to Kaufman Stadium this summer from downtown KC. We don't want to rent a car as we are coming from out of state. It looks like a bus goes there or a taxi/uber is the only way? If anyone knows how much a taxi would cost roughly that would be great. Thanks in advance for any information provided.

Getting to Kauffman Stadium from downtown Kansas City is quite easy, and you have a few transportation options. Since you're not looking to rent a car, here are the main ways to get to the stadium:

  • Bus – Kansas City has a bus service called RideKC that operates routes to Kauffman Stadium on game days. You can catch the Route 47 bus, which goes from downtown KC to the stadium. The fare is relatively affordable, typically around $1.50 for a one-way trip. Be sure to check the specific schedule for game days, as there may be special routes or times for large events.
  • Taxi or Uber/Lyft – Taxis, Uber, and Lyft are also common ways to get to Kauffman Stadium. A taxi ride from downtown to Kauffman Stadium will generally cost around $20-25, depending on traffic and the exact pickup location. For rideshare services like Uber or Lyft, the cost will be roughly the same, but prices may vary slightly based on demand and the type of service you choose (e.g., UberX vs. UberXL).
  • Shuttle Services – Some hotels in the downtown area may offer shuttle services to Kauffman Stadium on game days. It's worth checking with your hotel to see if this is available as it can be a convenient and inexpensive option.

If you want the most direct and straightforward route, a taxi or rideshare like Uber/Lyft might be your best bet, especially if you're traveling with a group or have a lot of bags. The bus is a great budget-friendly option but may take a little longer, especially if it's busy or there are delays.

In terms of time, a taxi or Uber/Lyft ride should take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic, while the bus will take a little longer, usually around 30-40 minutes depending on the route.

Enjoy the game, and have a great time in Kansas City!
