Road trip ideas for Montana / Wyoming?

I’m looking online but all the info is so overwhelming as America is so huge (we’re from the UK). My boyfriend has always wanted to go to Montana (he’s a big Yellowstone fan) and loves wilderness / hunting vibes / dramatic scenery.

Where would the most convenient location be to fly to around the Wild West? We’d like to see grand Teton, Yellowstone and any other very authentic places you’d recommend!

Not that keen on big cities, so we’d love to do a 10 day road trip where we can drive to wilderness and experience classic Wild West life!

Anyone have a suggested location itinerary?

Also is it possible to hire a car in one place and drop it off in another? Or would we have to a ‘circle’ road trip and end up where we started?
