Napali Coast Tour- Mobility Limited

Hello

I'm visiting Kauai with my parents who are in their late 70's this April and want to book a Napali coast cruise. My mother has limited mobility and so smaller boats/rafts are out. I'm looking for a company that provides boats that are easily accessible with comfortable seating for my mom and is hopefully affordable.

Any suggestions?

It’s wonderful that you’re planning a visit to Kauai with your parents and considering a Napali Coast cruise! Since your mother has limited mobility, there are definitely options available that offer easier access and comfortable seating for those with mobility concerns. While many of the smaller rafts and boats may not be suitable, there are larger, more accessible boats with comfortable seating and ramps for easy boarding. Below are some recommendations for cruise operators that cater to guests with mobility challenges:

  • Holo Holo Charters - This company offers larger boats with accessible seating and ramps for easier boarding. They operate a smooth and comfortable 65-foot catamaran that can accommodate passengers with mobility limitations. The boat is designed to be stable and offers a spacious viewing deck for those who want to enjoy the Napali Coast in comfort. They are known for their professional service and can help accommodate specific needs.
  • Captain Andy’s - Captain Andy’s offers a range of tours, including larger boats that provide comfortable seating and easy access. Their “Napali Coast Snorkel and Sail” tour is popular and features a larger, more stable vessel with indoor and outdoor seating. The crew is helpful and experienced in assisting guests with limited mobility, and the boat has enough space for those who need a bit more room to move around.
  • Na Pali Coast Kauai Tours - This company offers a larger boat designed for comfort, with amenities that cater to older passengers or those with mobility issues. They provide a range of tours along the Napali Coast and offer access to both the interior and upper decks, which are both accessible. The larger boat ensures a smoother ride with less rocking, which might be more comfortable for your mother.

While these companies are known for accommodating guests with mobility limitations, I strongly recommend reaching out directly to them before booking to ensure they can meet your mother’s specific needs, especially when it comes to boarding and seating arrangements. Additionally, some companies may offer private charters or have special accommodations, so asking about those options might be beneficial.

Other Considerations: It’s also important to consider the time of day for the cruise. Many cruises in the morning tend to be less crowded, which might provide a more comfortable experience for your mother. Also, since the Napali Coast is a rugged area, consider asking about the sea conditions on the day of your tour. Some days can be rougher than others, so booking with a company that uses a more stable boat is ideal for a smoother experience.

I hope this helps you plan a wonderful and comfortable experience on the Napali Coast! It’s truly one of the most breathtaking sights in Hawaii, and there are definitely ways to enjoy it with your family in comfort and style.
