Durango restaurants for lunch

We plan to visit the Durango on our upcoming trip and want to have lunch there. I'm looking at either The Summer House, The George, or the Eat Your Heart Out food court. Those that have gone, which is your preference and if you are choosing the food court, which place/food was your favorite?

Durango offers some great lunch options, so you're in for a treat! Here’s a breakdown of the places you’re considering:

  • The Summer House: This spot has a more casual, but upscale vibe. It's known for its delicious sandwiches, wraps, and fresh salads. Many people rave about their outdoor patio area, which is perfect if the weather is nice. It's a great option if you want something light and fresh with a cozy atmosphere. Some favorites include their avocado toast and seasonal salads. If you’re in the mood for something more filling, their turkey sandwich is a popular choice.
  • The George: A classic and reliable choice, The George is perfect for those looking for a hearty, sit-down meal with a bit of history. It's located in a historic building, and it has a charming, rustic feel. Their menu features comfort food like burgers, steaks, and sandwiches. If you're looking for something with a bit of flair, try their George Burger or one of their signature cocktails. It’s a good choice if you want a more substantial lunch in a cozy and welcoming setting.
  • Eat Your Heart Out Food Court: If you’re in the mood for a variety of options, the food court is a great place to explore. While it’s more casual, you’ll find everything from Asian fusion to hearty comfort food. It’s also ideal if your group can’t agree on one thing to eat, as there are multiple choices in one spot. The food court offers a diverse range of food, but if I had to pick a standout, the Asian options are often praised, especially for their fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes. If you're craving something more indulgent, check out their fried foods stand, where you can find everything from fried chicken to fries.

If I had to pick one, The Summer House might be the best option for a light, relaxing lunch with fresh options, especially if you're looking for something quick yet flavorful. However, if you're in the mood for a more hearty meal or a sit-down experience, The George is a great choice. The food court is perfect for variety, but it can get a bit crowded and may not provide the same level of ambiance as the other two.

Ultimately, it depends on what kind of dining experience you're looking for, but you can't go wrong with any of these spots!
