Best transportation staying at Fontainebleau

Hi all! Staying at Fontainebleau in May celebrating my 50th birthday. Obviously being at that end of the strip isnt great for walking. Taxi/uber the easiest to get around?

Happy early 50th birthday! Staying at Fontainebleau in May sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate. You're right that Fontainebleau is located toward the north end of the Strip, which is a bit further from many of the popular attractions. Here’s a breakdown of the best transportation options for getting around the area:

  • Taxi/Uber/Lyft: Yes, taxis, Uber, and Lyft are the easiest and most convenient ways to get around Las Vegas, especially from Fontainebleau. The ride-sharing pick-up and drop-off zones at Fontainebleau are typically easy to access, and you won’t have to deal with the long walks that can sometimes be required at other resorts. A taxi or ride-sharing service is great for quick, door-to-door transport.
  • Monorail: If you're looking for a more affordable option, the Las Vegas Monorail is a good choice. However, keep in mind that Fontainebleau is a bit farther from the monorail stations (the nearest station is at the Bally’s/Paris Las Vegas stop). The monorail is a quick way to get from the northern end of the Strip to the southern end, but it does require a bit of walking to get there.
  • Walking (if you're up for it): While you’re right that Fontainebleau is not ideally located for walking to many attractions, it is still walkable to some nearby resorts. However, the walk will be longer compared to staying closer to the central Strip. You could consider walking to nearby hotels like The STRAT or Sahara, but anything farther down the Strip would require a taxi or ride-sharing service.
  • Shuttles and Hotel Transport: Check with Fontainebleau to see if they offer any shuttle services or transportation to key locations like the airport, shopping centers, or popular attractions. Some resorts do provide free or discounted shuttles to nearby locations, which can be a good option if available.

Recommendations:

  • If you’re planning to visit places like the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, or other central Strip hotels, taxis or Uber/Lyft are your best bet. You’ll save time and avoid the hassle of walking long distances.
  • For trips that are a little further, such as visiting Fremont Street, consider using a ride-sharing service for comfort and convenience.
  • For a more scenic option, try the monorail for longer-distance travel along the Strip (though it won’t take you all the way down to Fontainebleau).

In short, taxis and ride-sharing services (Uber/Lyft) will be the most convenient for getting around quickly and easily during your stay at Fontainebleau. Enjoy your birthday celebration and have a wonderful trip!
