Hotel- River North

Hello, we are taking our 8 year old to Chicago for spring break. From what I have researched it seems like River North may be the best area for us to stay. Does anyone have a favorite hotel recommendation? Thank you!

River North is an excellent choice for your family trip to Chicago! It’s a vibrant area with lots of restaurants, galleries, shopping, and entertainment, all within walking distance. There are several family-friendly hotels in the area that would make your stay comfortable and convenient. Here are some recommendations:

  • The Godfrey Hotel Chicago: This hotel is a great option for families. It offers spacious rooms, a rooftop bar with stunning views (perfect for parents), and is located near many family-friendly attractions. The River North area itself is packed with galleries and restaurants, making it a great spot for exploration. The hotel also has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for families.
  • Kimpton Gray Hotel: Kimpton hotels are known for being family-friendly, and this one in River North is no exception. The hotel offers a fun vibe, with art-filled rooms and a central location near Millennium Park and the Magnificent Mile. They even provide amenities like pet-friendly rooms and bikes for exploring the city, which could be great for your family. The hotel also offers great dining options and is close to kid-friendly attractions.
  • Hotel EMC2: This hotel is perfect for families who want something a little unique. The hotel’s art and science theme (inspired by Einstein) might catch the attention of your 8-year-old, while the modern rooms and excellent service will please the parents. The hotel is well-located and is also near attractions like Navy Pier and Millennium Park.
  • The Langham, Chicago: A bit more luxurious, but The Langham offers a fantastic family experience with spacious rooms, an indoor pool, and even a kids’ program with activities for younger guests. It’s located right on the river, so you’re close to the Magnificent Mile and some of Chicago’s best museums and attractions. It’s also known for its excellent service and kid-friendly amenities.
  • Fairfield Inn & Suites Chicago Downtown/River North: This is a more budget-friendly option that’s still very family-friendly. It offers spacious rooms, free breakfast, and a location that’s perfect for sightseeing. The hotel is close to Navy Pier, the John Hancock Center, and other attractions. It’s a solid choice for families looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the bank.

In River North, you’re within walking distance of attractions like Navy Pier, Millennium Park, the Magnificent Mile for shopping, and a number of museums like the Museum of Contemporary Art. You’ll also find plenty of kid-friendly restaurants and activities to keep your 8-year-old entertained.

Make sure to check for any spring break deals or family packages that hotels may offer. And don’t forget to plan some downtime between sightseeing for your family to relax and recharge!
