Sooo many Hiltons !!! Which Hilton is better for a family with teens. Important to be central to beach, shops, restaurants and amazing pool. Prefer 1 bedroom with sofa in lounge (which they all do) and they're all similar in price.
Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Hawaiian Village (HGHV)
Hilton Grand Vacations Club Hokulani Waikiki Honolulu (HGH)
HGHV looks like beautiful grounds, with a lagoon and can use all Hilton facilities of the nearby Hiltons??
HGH looks modern and has a roof top pool.
Or would Embassy Suites (by Hilton) be better?
When choosing a Hilton property in Waikiki for a family with teens, the main considerations are location, amenities, pool options, and the overall atmosphere. Both the Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Hawaiian Village (HGHV) and the Hilton Grand Vacations Club Hokulani Waikiki Honolulu (HGH) are excellent, but they cater to slightly different experiences.
Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Hawaiian Village (HGHV) is a larger resort with extensive grounds, multiple pools including a lagoon-style pool with slides, and a more resort-like feel. It is located on the western end of Waikiki, slightly farther from the main shopping streets, but still within reasonable distance to the beach and nearby restaurants. One of the big advantages is access to all the facilities of the larger Hilton Hawaiian Village complex, including several restaurants, shops, and water activities.
Hilton Grand Vacations Club Hokulani Waikiki Honolulu (HGH) is more modern and located in a central part of Waikiki, very close to the main beach, shopping, and dining areas. Its rooftop pool is a unique feature with great views, and the building feels more boutique and contemporary compared to the sprawling Hawaiian Village property. This location is ideal if your family wants to be in the heart of Waikiki with easy walking access to everything.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk is another solid option. It offers spacious suites with separate living areas, free breakfast, and evening receptions. The location is very central, close to shops, restaurants, and the beach. It also has a nice pool, though it is smaller compared to the lagoon at HGHV.
Overall, if the priority is resort-style amenities and multiple pools, HGHV would be ideal. If the priority is central location with a modern feel and easy access to shops and restaurants, HGH or Embassy Suites would be preferable. Teens may particularly enjoy the larger pool and lagoon experience at HGHV, but if they are more interested in walking around Waikiki and experiencing local shops and food, HGH’s central location is advantageous.
Other factors to consider include:
In summary, for a family with teens who want fun, space, and a true resort feel, Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Hawaiian Village is highly recommended. For convenience and a more modern city-style stay, Hokulani or Embassy Suites are excellent alternatives.
