Hilton Vacation properties-what are the differences?
We are heading to Waikiki in May to help our 23 y/o relocate for a job. We’ve had good luck with Marriott condo style timeshares listed on Redweek in the past, but we’ve never stayed in a Hilton timeshare. It looks like Hilton has several properties but it is hard to tell how they differ/what they offer. We’d like a place that is clean, not dated and has : 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, in room laundry, a nice pool (preferably more adult oriented but not required), and proximity to the beach/restaurants where we can relax after running around to get her set up! We will have a car. Please share thoughts on these—and feel free to redirect to a different property all together if needed!

Thank you!
Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) properties in Waikiki vary in style, amenities, and overall feel, so choosing the right one depends on your priorities. All three you mentioned are HGV Club properties, meaning they offer timeshare-style accommodations with full kitchens and in-room laundry, but there are some key differences.
The properties differ in location, pool style, age of the building, and overall ambiance:
- Lagoon Tower at Hilton Hawaiian Village - HGV Club: Located within the larger Hilton Hawaiian Village complex, this property is close to the lagoon and beach. Rooms are generally well-appointed, many with ocean or lagoon views. Pros include easy access to restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The pool here is large and family-friendly, but not particularly adult-focused, so it can be lively. Ideal if you want to be in the middle of everything.
- The Grand Waikikian Honolulu - HGV Club: The newest of the three, offering modern, upscale accommodations. Suites are spacious and often have ocean views. Features include high-end finishes, contemporary décor, and full amenities. The pool is smaller and more resort-like, offering a slightly more serene environment than Lagoon Tower, though it still attracts families. Great for those who want a more updated, stylish space.
- The Grand Islander Waikiki Honolulu - HGV Club: Part of the Hilton Hawaiian Village, this property sits closer to the beach and provides spacious timeshare-style suites with full kitchens and laundry. Pools are slightly quieter than Lagoon Tower, and the property is known for being clean and well-maintained. Convenient for beach access and moderately close to restaurants. Offers a good balance between modern amenities and easy access to the activity of the village.
Some considerations for your situation:
- All three properties have 2-bedroom units with full kitchens and in-room laundry, so you’ll be set there.
- If you want the newest, most stylish accommodations, Grand Waikikian is likely your best bet.
- If proximity to the beach and a balance of family vs adult ambiance is key, Grand Islander is ideal.
- If you enjoy being at the center of activity, with lots of pools and entertainment options, Lagoon Tower is fun, but busier and more family-focused.
Since you have a car, any property works for getting around Waikiki. If you prefer quieter, more modern spaces to relax after helping your daughter, leaning toward Grand Waikikian or Grand Islander may be the best choice. All properties are well-kept, clean, and safe, typical of Hilton standards.
