Update - Excalibur and Luxor Valet and Bell Services

I did some on the ground investigation to explore the rumours in PlatinumPaul's other thread. Here is the latest info:

Bell services at Luxor: no changes

Bell services at Excalibur: Storage only, no bringing luggage to rooms

Valet is less clear. It's not going away at Luxor, but may do at Excalibur. Apparently everything is in the air at the moment due to new contract negotiations. I was told if things don't go well, there will be strikes.

Valet attendants have seen their income crushed by inflation and the introduction of valet parking fees. In real terms, they are making much less money than in years prior.

It seems there have been some changes regarding valet and bell services at both Luxor and Excalibur. Here's the latest update:

  • Bell Services at Luxor: No changes. The bell services at Luxor are operating as usual. You should be able to access luggage handling and storage services as expected.
  • Bell Services at Excalibur: The situation has changed. Currently, Excalibur’s bell services are offering storage only, meaning they will no longer bring luggage to rooms. This is a significant shift and could impact your experience at the hotel.
  • Valet Services: The future of valet service at Excalibur is unclear. While valet service is still available at Luxor, it may be discontinued at Excalibur due to ongoing contract negotiations. If negotiations do not go well, there are concerns about potential strikes among the valet attendants.

Additionally, it’s important to note that valet attendants have seen their income significantly reduced due to inflation and the introduction of valet parking fees. This is causing some frustration, as they are earning much less than in previous years. If you're planning to use valet services, it’s a good idea to check for any updates regarding their availability before you arrive.

These changes reflect the evolving situation at both properties, so if you’re staying at either hotel, it’s advisable to stay informed about any further updates to avoid surprises upon arrival.
