We are wanting to plan a trip to the UP in late July or early August from Louisville KY. Our group will be 4 adults ...and if it could be done...2 dogs! I am seeing alot of "don't miss" tips, on differnt road trip itineraries from different starting points, but could someone map out the trip from KY with overnight thoughts on where to stay (is pet-friendly a dream?), # of nights suggested at each city of interest, and then sights at each stop? We do not mind driving and are a very physically active group! Taking dogs would maybe limit where we can stay but some of the hiking and other outdoor activities would be so awesome! ...also not opposed to making an RV trip out of it if we do take pets...
