Sunset drinks with view

We are currently stopping at the Carlisle inn, we are looking for a tiki/bar on the seafront with sunset view for drinks 🍹 and possibly food as well - we’ve got a car so don’t mind driving - can you please recommend which one? Thank you for your help in advance x

Sarasota and the surrounding Gulf Coast area offer some excellent waterfront bars and tiki-style spots perfect for enjoying sunset drinks. Since you have a car, you have flexibility to explore options both in Sarasota and a short drive to Siesta Key or Lido Key for prime sunset views.

Recommended Waterfront Bars/Tiki Spots:

  • Siesta Key Oyster Bar (SKOB) – Located on Siesta Key Village, SKOB is a lively spot with casual vibes, seafood, and tropical drinks. You can enjoy sunset views from the outdoor deck near the water.
  • The Hub Baja Grill – A casual spot on Siesta Key with a relaxed atmosphere, great cocktails, and views of the marina. Good for small bites and drinks at sunset.
  • Captain Curt’s Crab & Oyster Bar – On Siesta Key Beach, offers a tiki/bar feel, seafood, and drinks. Outdoor seating provides a nice Gulf view for sunsets.
  • Lido Beach Grill – Located on Lido Key, right on the sand. Offers cocktails, light fare, and a relaxed beach atmosphere. Ideal for enjoying the sun dipping into the Gulf.
  • Marina Jack II Restaurant & Bar – Sarasota’s waterfront restaurant with a rooftop bar overlooking Sarasota Bay. Offers cocktails and casual dining with a great sunset ambiance.

Tips:

  • Arrive at least 30–45 minutes before sunset to secure outdoor seating at these popular spots.
  • Check if reservations are accepted for peak times, especially on weekends.
  • Consider bringing a light jacket or sweater, as the breeze on the water can be cool in the evening.

Overall, for the classic tiki/bar sunset experience, Siesta Key offers the most relaxed, fun options with easy beach access, while Marina Jack II provides a slightly more upscale view over the bay. Both are within a short drive from the Carlisle Inn.
