Two restaurants reopen
Lazy Flamingo 2 - the Periwinkle location - has reopened. As you probably know, the Santiva location was demolished and will not be rebuilt. Also opening this weekend on Captiva is the Keylime Bistro, another favorite of locals and visitors alike.
Great news for visitors and locals on Sanibel and Captiva! Two popular dining spots have recently reopened, giving everyone more options for casual and delicious meals on the islands.
Details on the reopenings:
- Lazy Flamingo 2 – Periwinkle Way, Sanibel: This is the second location of the well-loved Lazy Flamingo chain. The Periwinkle location has officially reopened, offering the same laid-back island atmosphere and seafood-focused menu that made the original so popular. The Santiva location has been demolished and will not be rebuilt, so this Periwinkle spot is now the main destination for fans of the restaurant.
- Keylime Bistro – Captiva Island: Opening this weekend, Keylime Bistro is a favorite among both locals and visitors. Known for its fresh seafood, vibrant flavors, and casual yet refined setting, it’s an excellent choice for a lunch or dinner stop while exploring Captiva. This reopening adds a fresh dining option to the island’s small but charming culinary scene.
Both restaurants are excellent choices for enjoying local seafood, tropical drinks, and a friendly island atmosphere. They also provide convenient spots for taking a break from beach activities or shopping along the islands.
If planning a visit:
- Expect the Periwinkle location of Lazy Flamingo to be lively, especially on weekends, so arriving a bit earlier may help secure seating.
- Keylime Bistro on Captiva may also see a surge of visitors with its reopening, so reservations or early arrival could be helpful.
These reopenings continue to strengthen the dining options on Sanibel and Captiva, making it easier for travelers to enjoy local cuisine while taking in the scenic beauty of Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast.
