Grocery store

Ok, dumb question but are there normal grocery stores on the island? Looking to buy bottle water and snacks. I have kidney disease so I need to drink lots of water. Thank you!

Absolutely, Key West has several “normal” grocery stores where you can stock up on bottled water, snacks, and other essentials. While the island is known for its tourism, there are places that serve both locals and visitors for everyday grocery needs.

Some options include:

  • Publix Super Market: A full-service grocery store chain, located on North Roosevelt Boulevard and Stock Island. Offers a wide selection of bottled water, fresh produce, snacks, and health-conscious items.
  • Winn-Dixie: Located on 2201 North Roosevelt Blvd, this is another standard grocery store with plenty of bottled water, snacks, and everyday essentials.
  • Food Pantry or smaller convenience stores: There are smaller neighborhood markets and convenience stores throughout Key West, such as The Fresh Market on Stock Island or Walgreens/CVS locations that carry bottled water and snacks, but selection may be more limited than a full supermarket.

For your situation with kidney disease, it’s definitely easy to maintain hydration while in Key West. Purchasing bottled water at Publix or Winn-Dixie is straightforward, and these stores are well-stocked for visitors who need frequent hydration.

Additionally, many hotels and resorts also sell bottled water in their lobby shops, but the prices may be higher compared to a regular grocery store.
